Hey Yess...  to be fair, they called Bush Bush and Clinton Clinton.  Especially in news articles, they will refer to him as President once and from then on it's the last name.  I don't think you should read much into it.  They have no choice but to recognize that he is President!

I won't lie. I call him Barack. I've been saying Barack since he lost to Bobby Rush for Congress and I can't shake it. The print media does open by saying President Barack Obama or President Obama and then they reference him by his last name only.

Hey thurr,
I'm back from running a thousand sudden errands.

Yeah I guess if someone is conditioned to address someone by their first name then it would be difficult to shake, but the media. Everyone does make a valid point about past Presidents being addressed by last name etc. so I guess that I should calm down()

This may not bee the popular opinion, but I do think this may be the case of 'us' being too sensitive.  I watch the news and political blogs all the time and there are countless cir****tances in which the media has refered to George Bush as simply George Bush, or Bush, the Bush Administration etc.  It is no different to when President Clinton was referred to as Bill Clinton or simply Clinton.

By all means when someone blatantly disrespects the office as Laverne pointed out lets get up in arms, but simply not including the title on every correspondence I do not think necessary.  JMHO.

I'm with you Brenda.  I think that in general, "we" are over sensitive to the treatment of the entire Obama family.  Wrong is wrong and there are times when people (the media, political pundits, etc) are crossing the line.  However, I think we should be cautious to throw down the gauntlet over every little thing because of the amount of love, respect and pride that most of us feel regarding the Obama's.
