Well...I am not sure a LDR can work for long, if at all.  I would want to be with my man and I don't think I would trust either of us.  I know I would not cheat but if I think he is...I don't know what I'd do.  I hope I would leave his butt and not do something stupid like cheat on him to get even.  Say what you want on that but even the most mature person will do some really silly things out of passion.   Good or bad.
Maybe it would mostly depend on the relationship and the time apart.  If it is a short time apart and the relationship is strong then it might work.  But if you are just in the relationship to be with someone then move...You start meeting new people and things develop.
If it were me, I would make a clean break.  If you meet up again and things work out, then maybe it was meant to be.  Why put your life on hold?   At this point in my life and in the past, I would not put off a man I was attracted to because of another man that is not willing or able to make a move to be closer to me or make me his.  Life is too short to be waiting around.  Move or break it off.
Just my 2cents.

A couple of things.

Without trust, a relationship isn't going to work whether long distance or right across the street.  If a person is going to cheat, the same thing applies: whether here OR there.

To be with someone just to be with someone, to me is a waste of time...again, be it local or long distance.

There does have to be a degree of maturity in both situations, local AND ldr.

Just my .02.

Good luck......

LDR's can work they are a hassle and I think it takes ALOT of patience and some real strong as imagination skills. I don't have much of either but i'm trying to work it out
