Hi all I have been gone a minute lets nsay about 8 months. During that time I have gained 30lbs.  I known its because I have been going through depression about the job market and losing my job.  I am worries because today I sat and ate 3 slices of pizza in 1 sitting. I am not suppose to be able to do that.  I am heading back up to the weight I started prio to WLS.  I guess I am looking for some Ideas on getting back on track.

Depression can put you off track. I started back with my Dr. first diet and was working my way up again.  If you try going to group meeting they may help they are free. Or hang around and you'll get a lot of suggestion.  Though I was on the right trac****il we found my father on the floor of his home. Thank God he didn't die there but he's been in the hositapbe.  Thank God there not food that I can get to there I would be doing just as you are, I'm prayings that you can find the strength to get back on track.  Because if you done you'll surely be depressed.  May God Bless you as you re start you journery.  YOU CAN DO IT YOU HAVE DONE IT ONCE , YOU CAN DO IT AGAIN.

Go back to basics. Plan your meals and eliminate temptation by not having easy access to bad foods.
Hit the gym or at the very least walk away your troubles.  If your depression is such that you truly can't handle it, speak to your doctor. Talk it out with someone.

Sweetie, despite what Tom Cruise say depression is real. You made the first step stataing the diagnosis and also how its affectng your health (gaining weight) for me depression is what got me to 299 lbs so I know its real. Seek therapy for the depression and as MZ D says walk or get in the gym to release those endorphins(its proven fact that exercise helps)

Good luck!

Hi,
I had a knee replacement and gained 30 pounds also. I found myself getting very depressed about it, so I saw my doc, a nutritionist and went to a support group meeting. Since 12/15/08, I have lost 12.4  of that 30 pounds. I also go to the gym 3 times a week and every other day do protein only all day. I understand the feeling of hopelessness with the weight gain, especially since my weight was stable for 2 years. Now I have closets and drawers full of clothes that I can't wear.

We have a tool to help in weight loss, so don't worry, we can lose it again.

Whatever you do, don't be angry with yourself.  When you're ready, you'll get back on track.  You already know the basics and you know what to do.  Freaking out might only make the journey more difficult.  Love each and every inch of beautiful yourself, and know that no matter what, you will achieve and maintain your goal!

You must beat down the carb monster!  Once you do that, you will not be able to eat those amounts any more.  Eat meals that are strictly meats and vegetables, that is all the carb you need.  Do that for a week and see if you aren't on track again!

Eating white carbs only make cravings and insatiable hunger, don't do it!

Im so sorry about your job, that would depress anyone, but please
try this to get your eating back in line again.

I feel like the longer and further you are away from surgery the easier it is to gain weight back.  I have been right around 215 lbs for the past couple of years.  When I first had wls I actually had gotten down to 174 lbs at one time.  After awhile your body almost goes right back to where it was before surgery... as far as digesting food is concerned that is.  Just be careful of what you eat and watch those portions.  I had knee replacement surgery which seemed to stimulate a littel weight loss for me... or maybe it is all the blood that you lose from that surgery that seems to make you smaller... I don't know.  I have just made it up in my mind to accept myself as I am.  At least I am no longer the 316 lbs I was before surgery.  Whatever little bit of weight I can lose/have lost is a blessing in my life.  Considering I want this knee replacement to last I had better make sure I don't gain too much more.  Sometimes it is easier to maintain than it is to lose.  God Bless you and Good Luck!
