Update on Me, Ms. M.I.A.

Hello,

Some of you may remember me, others, mainly newbies may not but I started on OH a while ago and ran into insurance issues with my employer who decided to exclude WLS from it's benefit.  Due to some hefty procrastinating on my part, it just didn't happen for me, a combination of events made WLS a distant dream last year.  However, I am happy to say that I found out that Kaiser will pay for the surgery for my group's plan and I have started an intense 6 month program through Kaiser last week.  Please keep me in your prayers, I really feel like it is going to happen for me this time, I need this change in my life THIS YEAR. 

I was initially a little saddened to find out that I will not be having my surgery with any of the great suregeons in the Baltimore area, but instead will most likely be performed at George Washington University with Dr. Paul Lin.  Initially I was like "I don't know anything about this dude" and it made me nervous but I've done a bit of research on him and he seems to be a good surgeon as well.

Just wanted to keep you all posted on where I'm at with this, I am ready to be on the losers bench!!  I will be keeping my journal updated frequently and I also plan on vlogging my progress on youtube soon so I'll keep you all posted on that.

Sounds great!!! Congratulations on the insurance change and all the new possibilities..... this process indeed has its highs and lows, but ride it out and you'll get to where you want to be...... keep the faith and you will win!

Good Luck I started on my 6 month path 1/5/09. I got 5 more doctor visits girl we are gonna get through this together by faith and prayer.

Good luck on this.  I went through Kaiser's program too.  It seems like it will take forever but it really goes quickly.  Next thing you know you will be graduating and getting your reference number for surgery.
