Kewl!!! I did the big chop about 4 months ago, but I received SO many requests to keep it short for a while (and i do like it this short - going to the barber shop can sometimes be fun, lol!), I decided to let it ride for a minute while I decide if I'm going to loc it.
I tried locking a few years ago, but it took too long, and maintenance and upkeep was expensive to me, so I went back to the relaxer. Now it's a naturally curly little fro/fade. (nothing like my avie!) Best wishes on the locs!! You'll love it!

Congrats!! I did my Big Chop in September and I asked myself why have I been perming my hair? I love my natural hair especially when it is wet. I think we get our minds warped about hair. I have been having so much fun playing with my hair and I LOVE the Barber shop as well, I need a life. How did you start your dred process and do you have any suggestions, I get so close and never go through this time I am locking it 2009 is about Permanent changes in my life, glad to hear I am not alone on this journey. I keep saying I am gonna wait until it is past my ears but I know it is all about being a procrastinator.
