Significant Others and Weight Loss

Met my wonderful husband I was peeking at the 300's, and through
 all my illnesses going up to at least 355 he loved me through it all,
 and now that more than half of it is gone we can be much more closer
( you know what I mean,) he is sooooooo proud and happy that I'm
 in much better health. GOD sent me a wonderful man.

I met my husband in 1998 and I was a little over two hundred pounds.  I had a baby and my weight got of control at my highest 378 pounds.  He loved me but wanted me to take better care of myself.  He was only down on me when I was down on myself  encouraging me to do something about it.  Since I have loved him over the last ten years heavy and heavier.  I believe wls will not effect our relationship negatively only postively because we can be more active together and healthy.  Just my take on it.  I have a great husband and friend.

no settling involved.  we met at my heaviest and he's a brick house fan so as i got closer to goal he'd get louder about it LOL!! 

at about 1/2 way to goal i ran into an ex (nother story for another day) but the bottom line is i've been more tempted to put some sashay back in my walk.  ironic part is that the increase in attention simply makes me love and appreciate him more. 

I met my partner about two months before my surgrey date.  we met on line.  I was at my hightest weight.  we met in Dec of 06 my surgrey was March 10, 06.  he said to me if I did not want to go thru he would love me as I was, my size did not make a diffrence to him.  Yes I went on and had my surgrey done, 
When I woke up he was there and has been every since, I have been in the hosptial 7 times, and he has been there with everyone.

this man is kind, and sweet.
it is now three years and he is still the same person that I met on line. 
God has truly blessed me. 
no, I will not get a big head, and act up, I remember too well those nights that I spent alone without him.

Let's see... i met my husband when I was wearing a size 32W.  I was in a 34W/36W when I had my surgery....He's been there before, during, and after and we got married along the ride.  Heck he takes better care of me sometimes than I do myself.  However there are some people that don't experience what I have... there are many wls patients that separate from husbands, wives, or significant others after their wls for various reasons so it's possible to stay in a relationship just as it's possible to leave a relationship...this procedure changes people and sometimes the relationships cant' handle the changes.

Interesting question.  I have known my dude for almost 8 years - we have been together for 3.  He got with me in the mid 200s - knew me all the way through to about 350... then I dumped him and went up later to 386, had WLS and saw him again shortly after on the way back down...... when I hit about 260 again - he decided he wanted to truly 'be' with me.  According to HIM - it had nothing to do with my weight loss..... hmmmph......

I dumped him before cause he was a ****  When he came back he tried to be a **** all over again and he got to know REAL quick what the Mack was evolving INTO..... nowdays.... mofo don't play with me!  He has been out with me and SEES very clearly that I ain't the meek, shy, fat ***** who was just SOOOO happy to have HIM.... now - it's 'what have you done lately to make me KEEP YO AZZ???'  LOL!!!!  Whole nuther world......

Do I think I am settling?  I used to contemplate that - however - upon some 'research'  **clears throat** I umm.... am cool with the fact that the grass is INDEED.... NOT greener on the other side...... LOL!!!!! 

Is he my one true love?  Let's see..... on 1/23/09 at approx 6:49PM CST....... yes.

At the time I had surgery I was ot dating anyone at all.  I had rid myself of the dead weight in preparation for my life changing surgery.  I met someone online 4 months after the surgery and it has been okay but I recognize that I have not changed my thinking patterns about relationships.  I am still putting another person's needs ahead of my own and that is not who I want to be anymore.  I am recognizing that it was the old me that jumped into this relationship and the new me wants to get out now.  When I do, I am going to take my time to figure out how to be the new me in a relationship.
