Significant Others and Weight Loss

I feel a query today:

When you (those who have lost weight) were at some of your higher or highest weight and struggling with wt issues, did you meet or have a significant other/partner/spouse that you felt is your one true Love and that you were not just "settling" for that person?

On the flip side, how many of you felt you were "settling" on a significant other prior to wt loss and when you  "normalized" your weight you ended the relationship?
Why?

Haven't gotten to that point yet but from what I hear at support group meetings, I don't think that it is necessarily you.  After weight loss some do become different people, those who were introverts finally have the confidence to come to the forefront.
I think that it is the significant others who are not secure enough to handle a more confident spouse and the dynamics of the relationship change.

In the end you feel as though you are settling because you may have changed roles, you are the confident person and that person is insecure thus making you feel as though you are settling for something that you really don't want.

That's just my theory on SOME situations.

I hope this answers your question.  Before Surgery I didn't have a wink, a tug, a tickle or a push.  And now that I have lost weight  I may get a wink or a tickle; and that's it.  But my motto is you weren't thinking about me while I was obese; don't think about me when the weight is gone.  I am the same person, just thinner!
