Well I only shop there now for the BRAS but as I have been loosing my weight I have found that some of the stores I did not think went up to a size 24 did like NY & Co. , Gap, and Old Navy.  For all these years I thought I was limited to Lane Bryan, Fashion Bug, The Avenue and Ashley Stewarts.

Also can I just vent on this subject of big girl clothes stores.

Why is it that in some of the pictures of their clothes they have models that are size 10-14.
When they display their clothes why do the pin the backs of the tops to get that hourglass shape when 90% of the big girls are not shaped like an hour glass but like a jug.

This always pissed me off about big girl clothes stores.

O.k., lemme answer your question.

I DO SHOP AT LANE BRYANT'S!!!  I do not buy their clothes because like many, my taste in clothes is much different than what they have to offer.  However, their jeans are some of the best fitting jeans I have ever had...

After ballooning up to a size 28/30, my lowest size after wls was a 14W.  I have yet to be in misses anything, except for SOME blouses/sweaters.  Some of us who have had surgery do not have the luxury of shopping in the junior sections, misses, etc.  There are some of us who still must shop in some plus sizes...even if they are 14's...it's the 'w' that I need...because I have a full, round behind (that I am VERY proud of, I might add...)

So, don't knock these types of stores - because contrary to belief, there are still some of us who have had surgery that must shop there...for one thing or another...however, some just prefer not to ADMIT they shop there...

I'm out...on my way out to da club...

Hollah!!!

I choose to love myself, live life to the fullest, and encourage others to liberate themselves!

O beleive me I am not a little person at all I just don't and never did like the idea tha they are suppose to be for us but their models don't look like us.  I perfer to shope at Ashely Stewart over the others because I think they have the clothes that fit my body as a still plus size black woman not a phte woman.

I don't think anyone is really knocking Lane Bryant because it's a plus size.  I'm still plus size and have a LONG way to go but I stopped shopping there awhile ago because it's so expensive.  I think it's great the variety they have but I started finding some of the same clothes at the regular department stores at much cheaper prices.

Dimple,
you are sure right...I am in the same boat you are. Even though I have lost over 120+lbs I still need to have that 12/14 w because of the hips and ass that does not seem to want to leave.

I have actually found some decent bargains at Avenue...they have some nice stuff for younger folks.

I dont' think Lame Giant is expensive, but I think I know why there are doing poorly.  Their shyte is wack as hell.  Have you ever seen so many bejeweled halter tops, foiled and ruffled shirts, and super short dresses in your life?  I don't know who they have choosing the fashions that hit the stores, but whoever that person is, he or she is a big idiot.
