Well I am on soft food stage and the list my nut gave me have quite a few things on it. I am so tired of ground turkey and chicken I could scream. I have also had some tender bone less skinless chicken breast.  I feel like I am going to turn to a bird and cluck.  Anyway i can not seem to come up with meals that do not  really include carbs like pasta, potatoes, rice etc.  I need some ideals for different meals I can cook my family.  Before I use to make all kinds of meals where everything was mixed together kind of like a cassarole but I have been told by so many people to avoid carbs this early out like bread, pasta, potatoes, rice, etc.  So right now I am not really eating at all because nothing taste or sounds good.  I have been getting my protein shake in every morning, my vitamin, and water. Any advice would be helpful.

Thanks

What about seafood? Fish, shrimp, scallops, crab cake, salmon cake? Egg salad, deviled eggs? You could still make a casserole but maybe get a small dish and make yours sans the carbs and cook them both. I couldn't have chicken breast on my soft foods stage but maybe yours is different?

I am sorry HF.  I am a repetitive boring eater.  I eat the same things all the time, so I don't have any advice to offer you.  There are bariatric cook books out there.  You may want to look at some of them for alternative meal ideas.  Don't give up....you will find what works for you.  You are still fresh out...it takes time, hon.

I went to the library yesterday and got two life after wls cookbooks but I have not tried the recipes.  I have look at some of them and alot of them require a lot of ingredients.  I am a simple cook on a budget so I do not know how budget friendly these recipes will be but i will try some of them if my food budget allows.

Hey HF hope all is well.  I am a boring eater as well.  I ate a lot of ground chicken and turkey.  Made spaghetti with whole grain pasta, meatloafs, tacos w/o the shell, chicken salad.  There is also eggs for egg salad, deviled eggs.  Also tuna fish, shrimp, baked fish.  So I hope this helps.

ETA:  I remembered (and I still do it) I will eat a slice or two of turkey from the deli and string chesse or a cheestick and will be full; and maybe an hour later eat a boiled egg.    Sometimes we have to make do.

After WLS, I just cooked for the family as normal and had to improvise for myself.  But all of those suggestions are great.  Seafood was my best friend during this stage.

Thanks for all the suggestions unfortunately I am not a big seafood eater.  I tried tuna three week out and it made me really sick from two tiny bits.  I liked salmon before wls have not tried it since.  I liked catfish and cod but only fried since I am not doing fried anymore they are out of the question. I will eventually figure it out.

Cottage cheese? Refried beans? Tuna? If you do a web search I bet you could find a recipe for mashed cauliflower, it's DELISH and healthy for you also.
