There's arguments on both sides but the general concensus is that we can only absorb 30g at one time. So, essentially, if you drink the whole thing you're wasting 12g.

It's only 3.1 oz and I tell ya, it beats having to mix anyday. I throw it in the freezer until it's slushy and yummy! I like the grape also, but I mix that one with a little crystal lite right in the tube.
