Excited and worried -- got my surgery time :)

Hey Everybody!  I'm super excited because I finally got my surgery time on inauguration day -- the funniest part was when the surgery scheduler called I was in the neverending purple line so I had to ask her to call back and leave a voice message.  So I have to be at the hospital at 12:15 with my surgery scheduled around 2:15.  I went to see the surgeon yesterday and he said that since I'm his third surgery of the day it may run a bit late -- but to not be worried because he'll still be running on all engines.  I also got all my pre-operative testing done yesterday too.  Now I'm just worried because as soon as I got home I went down for the count with some kind of illness.   Nothing says joy like a high fever and vomiting.  I'm a little worried because I'm not sure if they can still do my surgery if I'm sick.  I mean as long as I'm not actively vomiting, I suppose they can.  But its just a bit worrysome since this has been such a long journey.  Anyone else come down with a cold or something right before surgery?

Hi, I had a revision and right before my lap band surgery I came down with a cold, they were still able to do the surgery. I have been hearing about a virus going around though, I will be praying for you to get well before surgery.

Thanks so much for the prayers.  I'm working on getting some liquids down right now -- so maybe its all over.  Hopefully!   I'l also be keeping you in my prayers -- I just read your post.  But everything will be okay :)

Sounds as if we have the same thing!  I came down with the "bug" Monday.  I'm on day 2 of a Z-pack and have a call into my surgeon's office regarding any problems this may cause.  I'm scheduled for 1/26 also--
