Weight Gain
Oh No!! My job was eliminated in Dec and I fell back into some old habits. Staying up late and snacking late at night, not eating my three meals a day and drinking coffee all day. I got on the scale yesterday and I had gained 5 lbs, I felt horrible and knew that I had to get myself under control and get back on track. Today was a liquid only day- 3 protein drinks + jello and water. I didn't think I could do it but I did and my spirits have been renewed. Tomorrow I am going to start Stage 3 of my post op diet for the next two weeks then advance to Stage 4 for another week before advancing to normal eating plan. I m hoping that this will give my new stomach a rest and help me to get back on track.
Not working also interfered with my exercise routine-I was using my exercise bike every morning at 5 AM but since I was not getting up for work I had not use my bike in 3 weeks. So now I set my clock and get up just like I'm going to work and do my exercises.
By the time my new job starts the 2ND week in Feb I hope to be on track.
I am 18 months post op and did not truly realize how easy it is to fall back into unhealthy habits-we can never take our WLS for granted, it really is a life long choice that we have to choose every single day.

Sounds like you have a plan, and I hope it works for you. I can relate as I have gained 20 lbs and I am working to get the weight off. I would just encourage you to not let 5 lbs, make you depressed. It is easy to fall into emotional eating pattern, its good that you recognize it and are back on track. Good luck to you.
Working on me - want to be better in everyway not just physically!!! Its a process no time to judge or be judged!!!!
I predict that those 5 pounds will be gone by this time next week. Keep monitoring your weight on a regular basis after you get back on track. It's very important - keeps you honest with yourself and you can do damage control early on if your weight starts to fluctuate upwards.
Congratulations on finding a job! That's quite an accomplishment in itself in this economy.
