Pregnancy After WLS

Up until a few weeks ago I did not want children...I have raised my 7 year old brother since birth... He is the most amazing child I have ever met...I have many siblings and have partially raised them...I am in my twenties and just wanted to lose my weight and continue on living my life...My fiancee who is in his early thirties has 2 children, 13 and 15...He is a wonderful man and takes really good care of my brother...He wants a child with me...I realized that I cannot be selfish and should consider having a child...I have decided to do so 2-3 years from now... Everyone is excited and so am I...My only concern is that I do not want to gain the weight I would have lost...I want to get down to the smallest I can so when I have my baby I have room.. I check out the pregnancy forum but would like any input from the folks on BAF...

I got pregnant 17 mos after my surgery. I gained 15lbs and lost 24 after she was born. As with anything else, this can vary from person to person. I didn't deviate much from my post op diet except  did have to add more carbs back to keep my blood sugars stable. If you just work at it and don't use it as an excuse to eat tons of food again,  I believe it can be managed. It is harder though to get back on the wagon of eating mostly protein afterwards, but it can be done.

I gained 50 and lost 65. My Surgeon said that pregnancy was no excuse to fall off the wagon or not exercise. 

Had my tubes tied after sorry but I have a 7 yr old and I am 41 Wow A NEW MOM not me so I am satisfied
