Hi BAF.
Resident lurker here.  Stepping out of the spectator box to see how many of us are taking off from work on Tuesday to see our next president sworn in?

I had to take a vacation day on Monday for MLK and Tuesday for BHO!  My boss (Republican) was telling me they were going to have the inauguration on the T.V. in the lunchroom so I didn't need to take the day off.  I was thinking, "yeah right, like I'm gonna celebrate and do the happy dance while all ya'll disappointed Republicans are lookin' all gloomy!"  No thank you.  I'm gonna be at home celebrating with my awesome hubby and two beautiful children.  I want to be in the company with people who "get it."  People who know the struggle and can appreciate this moment on a level that non-blacks will never understand.

So - did you call off, take a vacation day, or are just not showing up?  Or are you reluctantly dragging yourself into the J-O-B?

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Psalms 46:10  Be still, and know that I am God James 1:17  Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights....

 to God be the Glory!

I'm here today, but came in early so I could catch the majority of the celebration at home!

This man has a job ahead of him. I pray for god to keep him and his family blessed and safe. Lord give him guidance and the wisdom to not take the advice of the fools that will be around him.

I wish more folks had been praying that the LORD would have given Bush the guidance and wisdom not to take so much of the advice from the fools around him.

That way this messy job Obama is inheriting wouldn't have been so big.

I'm taking a vacation day today too.  As I told my boss, "I need to be home to 'absorb' the historicity".

I took a Personal Leave day for today.  I wanted to experience this piece of history at home where I can freely rejoice!!!  As it has been said, we really need to keep Obama in prayer.  He has inherited a very, very messy presidency.  People expect him to be a miracle worker and he just may well be but people have to also understand that he didn't create this mess of an economy, the war and all of the other issues we have going on.  Let's just really, sincerely keep him and his beautiful family in prayer.
