ONLYYYYYY my mother would end up with this!!!!

so - since I had to work and the schools and day cares were closed, babygirl had to spend the day with grandma...... got her hair braided, did a lil shopping - nothing major.  I get off work and get to the house to pick up babygirl - my mother is READY with her rant......

She does NOT 'claim' Obama!!!!  He ain't Black!!!  He's African American and doesn't have the 'imbedded memory' of slavery....... he's therefore NOT the 'dream' that MLK talked about!!!!!  She is glad he will be President and all..... but she ain't all caught up in feelings or feeling 'close' to him...... to her, he isn't really attached to BLACK America.......

  Gotta LOVE my mama!!!!  Now - while I CAN see her point that ONLY a man like Obama coulda pulled this off cause he DOESN'T have a personal family history of the 'Southern' brand of discrimination.......... folk can ASSUME he doesn't have a 'chip' on his shoulder......

HOW-SOME-EVA............. did she have to pick on that one thing?  I mean - DAMN - can the brother get a 'pass' for all the work he has done in Black neighborhoods, for Black people - HELL - can he get a pass cause of MICHELLE??????  LOL  Not that I am saying he needs a 'pass' in general - just for MY mama he does......lmao

Tell you mama it's gonna be alright, I think Obama is what American and the world needs right now, we need someone that is not really black nor white, nor American and he fits all those characteristics, the MAIN thing I really like about Obama is ...he has this tendency to bring ALL people together, his election was NOT ABOUT black folk nor whites it was about bringing ALL people together to heal old wounds and to tackle this mess Bush created in the last 8 years and I think he will accomplish that.

You and your mom seem to have a really good relationship it's funny reading about how you and her joke with each other, that's good though, enjoy your mom and cherish her, I lost my mom a few years ago and I know she would be ecstatic to hear a black man getting elected, both she and my dad are now deceased, and they were avid voters.
