How did u get here?
In 2004, I was researching WLS and Que aka Yess had a yahoo group and she gave out the link to BAF.
It took me fours years to finally go through with WLS.

I stumbled upon OH by total accident. I had become interested in weight loss surgery and caught the end of a special that was talking about Khalilah Ali having one of the procedures. I googled her name because I didn't catch all the information about her journey and it lead me to OH. After researching I became very interested in the Lap-Band and so that is the board I went to. I honestly didn't even realize there were other boards. I kind of spent time between the Lap-Band board and the Wisconsin board. The Wisconsin board would have maybe one post every two days so I made the Lap-Band board my home.
JoyouslyMe told me about the BAF board and so I that's how I found this board. I have been hit with insurance obstacles that haven't allowed me to have my procedure paid for so I'm hoping that either the insurance will change soon or I will be looking at trying to pay out of pocket. Right now I'm just focusing on my family, but once our third baby girl comes in April, I be back to figuring out what my next move will be as far as the weight loss surgery.
I hope that sometime soon someone will realize that having obesity related exclusions on insurance policies is a form of discrimination and do away with it. You'd think they'd realize having a surgery that will lead to a healthier lifestyle will lead to fewer co-morbidities they will HAVE to pay.
You have a blessed day as well!

I found OH by googling wls. I spent most of my time reading pages and getting some ensight on what to expect. From time to time I would try to access a page that was private or stmble on a page where the person hadn't updated in a while. I was like what happend to these people. Did they loose weight and deside that they didn't need OH anymore? I would sometimes see "BAF" on a page and I was like what the hell is BAF. I thought that it was a group that you had to join or something. lmao. I just found this forum maybe 2 weeks ago and I found all of those people that seemed to be MIA over here chillin' on BAF. This place is like an oasis .
Y'all are crazy as hell but you tell it like it T I is.
And I appreciate all of the old heads who still hang around to help out newbies like myself and I promise to pay it forward.

My doc recommended the surgery but I didnt find out about OH and Baf till I was 3 months post-op. A friend sent me the link
I found OH by "googling". However, I also just discovered the BAF a couple of weeks ago and now I must admit I am an addict. I do not post very often but I have gained so much knowledge from everyone here. It's really nice to see a FUBU forum of this nature. This is truly my support group and I can't wait to join the vets on the loser's bench.
