Vitamins Deficiencies,Going Bald, Protein,Holla At Me
I take b12 500 mcg (I am thinking of increasing it); biotin 1000 mcg, a multivitamin, and calcium citrate with vit d (3 a day from bariatric advantage).
As far as protein; I now try to get it from food. Please be aware that your taste buds will change and what protein you can tolerate now you may not be able to after surgery. But if I want a protein shake I do unjury (www.unjury.com).
I did lose some hair but I started getting it treated and taking my biotin and the hairdresser had to cut it everytime I went.

The first few weeks after surgery, my Dr. requires us to take a liquid muti-vitamin. I used Centrum. I now take a multi-vitamin chewable 2 times/day and calcium citrate by Celebrate bariatric vitamins. They taste pretty good.
I give myself a B12 injection monthly. My Dr. also suggests CoQ10 and vitamin E supplements.
Synthrax Nectar protein flavors are my favorite. When I am desperate to reach my protein goal for the day (65 -80 gms) I will also drink ISOPURE protein. I usually check the GNC website and see if they have any for sale; or see what's on sale in the store. So, I stay stocked on those because they work for me in pinch. I try my best to get protein from food now days though.
Hope this helps. Your surgeon should give you a list of recommendations with your eating instructions though.
