Ok - I am having a Negro moment.......

I know I can't say **** about this AT work - so I figured I would vent here......

NORMALLY - I am not one to see the racial side of things and I usually give the benefit of the doubt when things happen BUT..................

MLK day THIS year and Tuesday are MILESTONES in history - not just for the nation coming together blah blah blah but because I am Black.......  SOOOO many folk are taking off work, there are numerous events, etc.

My company doesn't have MLK as a company holiday - but you can use your time to be off.  Well - WHY THE FLIPPIN **** did these mofos STRATEGICALLY plan a goddamn MANDATORY training for MONDAY and TUESDAY???!!!!!!!

These *****es planned this **** back on November!!!!!  ********!!!!  I'm the only ****** (yeah I SAID it - cause that's what I FEEL LIKE in this situation) in management so instead of moving the class - just make the ****** show up...................

It SUCKS that I cannot spend the day with my daugther and yes.... MY MAMA.... doing the things that make days like this mental cornerstones - I have to DVR the damn thing and try to STAY UP to catch up.

Anybody else got some SERIOUS insensitivity going on at their job????

I feel ya MM. Had I kept my butt teaching, I would be off tomorrow but noooooooooo I started working for dr's offices and I have to work tomorrow and Tues. Sick people don't take the day off so I will be at work also. I will get off at 2 tomorrow and 1 on Tues. like usual. I do think that your job is being insensitive to you with mandatory training on those days but they probably haven't even thought about it because they only have the 1 token black. Sorry, I know that you worked hard for your position and have the knowledge and education for your job but that is how they look at it. I was like 1 of 2 black teachers at my school. I'm the only black person in my office but there is a lady from the Dominican Republic that works there so she would be considered a person of color. It sucks, I know.

oh - I know they are some insensitive *******s.... my boss actually talked to me about a chick that was preggo - they were no longer looking at her for advancement cause she would 'lose focus' once she had the kid - cause chicks always out with the baby, etc......

That mofo right there has me shaking my head sometimes - I know I go hard cause I know I have to in order to play with these big boys - so I work SERIOUS jelly to accomodate the hours and the image they are looking for - the killer thing is the only reason these *******s can work like they do is cause they all got stay at home wives with their kids!!!  

Monday is a "floating" holiday for us.  Translation: We're giving you Ni-grahs a holiday, but we really don't want to. 

The other "floating" hoiday?  The day after Thanksgiving. 

Maybe they didn't know you were a nig-grah..you look kinda light to me.  lol.

You KNOW I am the only person of color (*****) in my office. I have ALWAYS in my nine years of being an employee there took MLK day off WHY because I can. I wasn't thinking about the Inauguration on Tuesday, I will just sit in my office with door closed and watch it on company time..

One of our pink shareholders is actually attending the Inauguration ball he was personally invited by Joe Biden.

Hmmmm.  How common is it in Texas to be the grain of pepper in a sea of salt in an office, I wonder?
