New Post-op Tip of The Day

Sorry I didn't post yesterday but I didn't get on the computer at all.

Today's tip is that it is completely normal to feel like what the heck did I do to my body after surgery. Many people may go through some sort of mourning or regret about their surgery when they can't eat what they are craving or what is flashing through their minds or on their tv's, on EVERY commercial. This doesn't happen to every person but it is a normal feeling and it will pass. I went through those feelings for 5 weeks after surgery because I had some complications but this was the best thing besides giving birth, that I've ever done.

Hi neenaj.  I just wanted to say thanks for posting this.  It's informative to read what everyone has to say so that I won't be completely going   post-op.

Thanks very much for this post, I haven't even had my surgery and I am already worried about not being able to eat "normally" again, having food funerals feeling sorry that I won't ever be able to eat a huge plate of -------- whatever it is I am saying goodbye to.  I am counting on my being happy with the weight loss to counter my feelings of regret.

Glad to see that I am not alone and that I will get over my regrets.

Thanks

Michelle, I'm just trying to pay it forward. BAF has been good to me.

For those of you that think you won't ever be able to eat again, you will, just not the same amount. There are many post ops on here that are over 5 yrs out and they eat regular food but smaller amounts. Just remember that sometimes you can eat something and it agrees with you and you eat it another time and it makes you sick. No rhyme or reason and that's why you should always try a new food at home so you will see how it affects you.
