I just had surgery 2 days ago and tomorrow will be the first day that I attempt to drink a protein shake.  Do you guys think it will hurt if I put a couple strawberries or pinapples chunks in it to make it taste better?  Also drinking an 8 ounce drink is taking me hours did anyone else have this issue?

Yessss it takes hours to get not just the protein shakes down but any liquid, especially if you are just two days post op. Take your time and remember to sip .... I wouldnt  do the pineapple chunks just yet (that's just my opinion) your pouch is only 2days old and can only tolerate liquids right now, pineapple and strawberries may be too much again that's my take on it... Congratulations ... you are on your way!

I agree with Tanya.  It takes forever to get liquids down.  I would not add any fruits to your pouch but please talk to your surgeon and nutritionist about this.  You have a young pouch that isn't healed enough to handle solids so please adhere to the menu your nut provided you.

JMO...I wouldnt try fruit just yet. Dont go mixin and matchin just yet. You will never find out what you can and cant tolerate like that. Also, you are too early out to do anything solid...again JMO. Ask your nut.

No ma'am...no fruit for you (again, consult your surgeon or nutritionist).    You are still healing, please stick to liquids.

Hi, Did you doc tell you to drink a protein shake? It seems like a little to soon. I still cant keep fruit down and I had WLS 1 month ago almost. I think it will be way to much for your stomach to handle unles thats what they told you to do. Just be careful.
