WL Confessions - long post

Just note:  You dont want the uncensored MM.  Just kidding her bark is worse than her bite.

In terms of doing everything right.  NO ONE no matter what they say does EVERYTHING right.  One thing you said sparked my attention.  Your surgery was self pay and it was a sacrifice, but you also say you have lost all you want to lose, so I am stuggling to see the problem.  Unless, it is bugging you that you truly haven't worked your tool as you should and you would like to get more from it.  If so, be honest with yourself.  Make the changes you need to to work your tool.  AND DO NOT SELF SABATOGE.  You deserve the money you invested in the new you.  Whether it be for health or cosmetic.  Whatever brought you to the decision, don't quit until you get the reward you desire.  When you have done that DO YOU!  No one can judge you for that!  But if its bugging you I would venture a guess that you KNOW you want and DESERVE to be better to yourself.

Okay, I am just going to say this.... In some ways you remind me of myself my first year of being post-op EXCEPT I was very adamant about "sticking" to my doctors order the first six months to be sucessful. Also, this is one of the "many" of reasons I have said WLS was EASY for ME, because just like you no matter how what I ate I STILL lost weight... Fast forward almost seven years later I have gained back about "25" of the "134" pounds I originally lost. Not to  bad I know BUT, if I didn't correct those mistakes I did in the past those 20 pounds could EASILY be turned to 50 or MORE gain.... I had to teach myself what and what NOT to eat.. NEVER, in my history as being a member of Obesity Help have I ever made a post about my bad eating/excerise behavior. You know WHY???

Because, I know what I need to do there is NOTHING anyone can post or say I need to do made me change, it took RHONDA to make that happen...

OBTW I just noticed you SELF PAID, girl that sacrifice ALONE should be an motivation to you... Just like I self paid for my tummy tuck I look at my payment coupons every month and REFUSE to ever let my belly pop out of shape again, this is a $8k investment I plan to keep...

Thanks for your posts. I suppose this is why folks say, do not compare yourself with someone else.  I agree with you Rhonda that after the initial issues with dehydration, this has been pretty easy.  I guess what I feel bad about is that I have not exercised and have lost weight inspite of myself.  Even around Thanksgiving, I lost 9 lbs.  I do not gorge on junk per say but, have had carb friendly ice cream and other sweets but, definitely not over loading on it.

Some folks are very diligent about exercise and diet and thats just not me.

I am glad that I had the surgery as it has changed my life and my entire self image is MUCH better.  I look and feel better about myself.

Thanks again!

Hi and welcome!! I researched a lil about the VSG when I was looking into surgeries and It seemed to be successful you have to have pretty much a low-fat low carb lifestyle. You're still in your initial window so of course the weight loss is easy, but I hate to say that if you keep doing the way you're doing you could gain the weight back. Your surgery is purely a restrictive surgery. You can eat little at one time but if you fall into the traps of excessive carbs or grazing you are doomed for failure.

I highly suggest that you change your lifestyle right now. Cut down the carbs, increase the water, and exercise. This is something you will have to commit yourself to for the rest of your life. If not you will have wasted your time, energy, and money.

 jpmoore36,

Ok. I am a VSG'er and I know what you are supposed to be doing!  And  you know that ain't it!  You should be eating no more than one serving of a complex carb per day.  Pick your poison, but stick to the plan.  I know we can eat anything.  But if you don't use your tool to achieve a more healthy lifestyle, what good was it really?  Mack is correct in saying that 3 - 30 minute workouts per week is all you need to get it in gear.  You can do it!

Now, if you need me to be more forceful,  I can ratch it up a few more notches for you!!
