Newbie: did this happen to you?

GURL! I went throught the exact same thing. I was so focused on getting in my protein and afraid that i wasnt getting enough through my food that i would drink a protein shake adding up to about 78 grams because it was 26 grams per scoop per 8 ounces but i didnt realize that it was 130 calories per scoop as well and i was drinking that for my breakfast thinking "Ok got my protein in for the day " lol NO! When i say my Dr read me my rights. Told me to leave the protein shakes alone and focus on getting it from my food intake and not to eat more then 1200 calories per day. Another thing that helped was the order in which i was eat off my plate. Meat first Veggies second and startches last. I would head straight for the mash patatoes because they were soft that i would be too full for the most important foods, meats and veggies, i started focusing on my water intake upped my cardio and wouldnt you know it 13pds in one month. Girl i was at a 3 going on 4 week plato so you know i was scared. We are going to be just fine. Its a learning experience and i'm loving every minute of it!

And another thing i was exactly 248 at my dr appt dec 18 and today i'm 235. Thats Crazy !

You know it's good to hear that it's not me...sometimes i find myself thinking I'm such a failure, but I see others have the saaammmee problems.

 May I also suggest using The Daily Plate on www.livestrong.com?  I track everything I ingest and it kicks back all the nutrition information for me.  So, I can see at a glance where I am with calories and protein and sodium for the day.  I like it better than sparkpeople.com.  I used spark people for over a year and have made the change to the daily plate now.

Mstanyat, just wanted to thank you for posting this. I feel like my weight is coming off slow but my surgeon thinks it is fine. Being a revision patient might have something to do with it though. I am going to try cutting back on the crystal light and juice (diet) and see if that makes a difference. Thanks again!
