 I didnt know about counting calories either -he told me to do between 1000-1200 per day ...

I mean yes it does make since but when i was pre-op all my nut focused on was PROTEIN PROTEIN PROTEIN, since that was drilled in my head so much i forgot about the calories

...HOld up AshleyNicole I'm confused?... you say you are part of a clinical trial but you dont know if you had the surgery or not? am i reading that right.... can you explain? maybe im just slow

the surgical method she is in a trial for is one that has no cuts to the stomach - the procedure is performed totally through the throat - therefore - no incisions.........

Clinical trials require placebos - so my GUESS is that they knocked her out just like everybody else - and when she awoke - she isn't going to know whether they altered her stomach because they want to see if this method REALLY causes significant weight loss or if it's just mental.......

I don't just have issues, I have subscriptions!  I'm saving on the newsstand price.......

Thanks for explaining for me.... right after i posted i got called into work early so i wasnt able to respond....

yes this is totally correct how you explained it...and yes i was put to sleep for the procedure and the instrument was put down my throat and all...only difference is some peoples stomach actually gets stapled...some peoples dont...im not sure if mine was or not...wont know til jan 4, 2010!! it really sucks not knowing too!! and expecially when people know you went in for weight loss surgery its almost like you HAVE to lose weight otherwise people will just think you failed at WLS..its really stressful

Dude - you SO get double points from me on being brave!!!!  LOL - it was hard enough for me to do my thing KNOWING what was going on - I couldn't IMAGINE wondering!!!!!  WOW....... you are totally amazing to me - that MUST be stress for real - you are a seriously strong woman - my hats off to you!!!!!

Excellent post for new-ops, no-ops, and post-ops.... congratulations on those pounds melting off!!! I'll give it a few weeks, and you'll be experiencing the "I didn't recognize you" syndrome!!! Watch what I tell ya!!

thanks sboyd... i have already started hearing that statement...but you know what a few more times wont hurt...lol I can stand to hear it again!.....

you have a GREAT doc!!!!  He is exactly on the money - no diggity, no DOUBT!!!!!!

Yea - sounds like he took you to the bare bones - which is a great thing - with your thyroid thingee - you gotta make sure you are careful and follow the plan.  i have heard horror stories about how thyroids get all outta wack. 

Keep workin it out girlfriend!  60lb down ain't nothing to sneeze at - you will double that in NO time FLAT!!!!

Hey Tanya,

Congrats again on the weight loss..What type pf foods are you eating now..On Monday I will be 5 weeks and a week from then I will go back to work...I would like to try different foods so that when I go back to work I am good...My Dr. advised that I can have what I want now and gave me a few ideas...

Hey Isa.... Im pretty much back to eating regular foods what I ate pre-op with the exception of some things (obviously). Im just focusing on calorie counting  to make sure i dont go over . 

all i can say is when you go back to work... take you some snacks to keep in your drawer so that you dont become tempted... I work in a doctors office and we have drug rep lunches all the time and if i didnt have my snacks I would be a mess
