Lap Band on 09/30/05 with

I did not have VSG, but I had the band and had similar problems after surgery, just make sure you sip room temp liquids very often, because you could easily get dehydrated and this could be a serious problem, it's ok not being able to each much, but you MUST be able to get liquids down, if this go on longer you may want to call your doc.

I has a VSG and it was extremely difficult getting in those fluids. I didn't even worry about food.  I was very close to going to the emergency room for dehydration but didn't want to go for that reason.  I bought a playtex toddler sippy cup with the valve and then when things got better I took the valve out.  Water was flat out nasty to drink so I watered down whatever juice I could tolerate. 
Watch the temperature of the liquids too.  I couldn't tolerate anything cold so everything had to be room temperature or warm.  Everything I drank that was cold felt like it stuck in my chest.
