The comfort of home
Do you regret them knowing ahead of time? I have two coworkers who are also my best friends that know for sure.
My only problem is that I work in the hospital that I am having surgery and to make it worse- our office it directly across the hall from my surgeon's clinic! I've had one or two see me there...so I'm sure they are assuming.

Yes, I regret telling as many people as I did. I know people will figure it out sooner or later but I've already heard some backlash. One nurse that I thought was my friend was going around telling people that I'm not even cool with and they had a discussion about people failing the surgery. Of course this discussion was done in front of people who happened to be sitting around and they came back and told me. We were having a meeting and as it was wrapping up someone made jokes about drinks and they all know I like New Orleans daiquiris and some person that I really don't know yells "too bad you won't be able to drink those anymore." Um why are you in my business and that was not the place to say something like that. Anywhoo it will be fine and I'll just do my work and keep my business to myself from now on in the workplace.
