Your liver won't burst....they have you shrink it down with a liquid diet so that it is easier to do the surgery laproscopically.. Every doc is different...I have noticed that some people aren't asked to do it at all. I was required to do it for 7 days...THAT was long, can't imagine 2 weeks! We all have weaknesses, just get back on your program, you will do fine. Sometimes though if your liver is shrunk down enough there is chance that your surgery would have to be open rather than lap.

Thanks for this one. i really dont want  it to be open either. I didnt want that 7" scar. I am going to get back on it and work it out.

I have to go through a process of lipolisis where the liver releases all its glycogen. When it does that it shrinks. The sad part about it is  I know better. .....

Thanks for the positive feedback sister

Okay.....

Think its a game.........

First I did the same thing except I had to go a month on a liquid diet. I cheated after my first week but I was also introduced to dumping then.

This tool won't work if you don't fix the REAL problem and thats your relationship with food trust me.... shawty I'm in love wit it so I know.....get that temptation under wraps shawty!!

FIGHT THE POWER!!
Smile for me.........

Yeah,

I know its crazy but it went down like that I was on HMR Protein Shakes and after a weak I went and ate the greasiest hamburger I could find. You know one of those wrapped in aluminum foil and in a brown paper bag...like the one from Menace To Society.......maybe it was just that but after that session I was dumping like a mofo.......

I had to do a 3 week liquid diet preop.  The first week I did liquids all day except one meal. The following two weeks I did all liquids only.  I hate to sound mean, but really its a small sacrifice for the new life you will now be leading.  What really worked well for me was the unjury protein drinks (www.unjury.com) They have a chicken soup flavor that you drink warm-its been my favorite of all the protein supplements I have tried.

I enourage you to try to follow your Dr's advice/instructions.  Wishing you all the best.

Girl, Girl,  we all have been on a liquid diet at some point, either before or after surgery and of course it is way easier to do after the surgery because your stomach has been altered but I am sure that you will hear alot how important it is to stick to it.

I had to be on a  liquid diet for about 2 months because the surgeon wanted me to loose wieght and shrink my liver.  I didn't stick to it and had to have my surgery pushed back twice because of it.  The few weeks turned into 2 months because evertime they weighed me and I wasn't progressing like I should , they added a few more weeks.  Trust me it will help you alot after the surgery if you get used to it  now, it will be a breeze when u really have to do it.

After I finally decided to stick to it  and do the damn thing the weight came off like butta, my complexion got better I had a glow on my face, I didn't have to have BM's as often and I just felt great.  I know it's hard but once you start it don't stop cause then you'll have to start over again.  Your body will get used to it soon and won't want food. YOU CAN DO IT!
