I'm really not lazy...but I need advice
Prior to WLS, I had severe back pain and I would excercise from time to time but it always took me a couple of days to re-coop afterwards.
After WLS, the pain was less but it still existed......now the pain is severe once again to the point that I'm on muscle relaxers to get some relief.
Recently my new doctor was overly curious about my constant complaint (I think he thought I just was making up something to get drugs), so he ordered some x-rays of my lower back.
A week later her called me back for MORE x-rays, at this point I got scarred because I knew there was something but wasn't sure what it was.
Finally, the results are in and the doctor calls me in to review the x-rays. I have whats called PARS defect which is basically one of my lower vertebrae is slipping over another.....I have a MRI scheduled for next week and the doctor says depending on the results I may need back surgery.
I want to feel better but I honestly am tired of being cut on....I was sent to therapy and that was painful, so no more therapy for me.
Are there any excercises that are effective but yet not strenuous on my back?

Perhaps a beginners yoga class or swim aerobics. I am not being funny very serious. I joined a senior citizens water aerobics class while I was at my heaviest because I was no longer able to walk unassisted and it really really helped alleviate pain as well as get me back into exercising. God Bless you I will pray all goes well for you with the MRI and the exercise.

Hey, T!
Even though your doctor recommended surgery, I would let him/her know you want to exhaust all options first. He should be able to provide you with alternatives. Also, have you tried the holistic approach? No, it doesn't work for everyone....but I've known some who swear buy it.
I hope you get the relief you are looking for soon.
