I couldn't agree more. It's been said that this board forum is one of the most popular but popular for what? It's been said that older PostOps either lurk or have reached their goals and went on to live life forgetting where they started....I don't agree. I know for myself and others that it just gets to be so much that truthfully although it may make some feel good...nobody is lurking the mentality is "f" it. It's said that for every support post which might get a few responses if one is lucky that there will be 80 asinine posts that are highly responded to. I realize that there is life off this board but honestly, read these posts people. It sometimes seems that folks just sit around thinking of ish to post that will make something jump off. I couldn't believe the folks who have come out of lurk mode for this recent mess that has started....notice they have nothing positive to add but they love to put the icons.......just to keep stuff going because for drama they will happily make their pr essence known.
I say all of this because to the newer posters...who can fault you...it's all you've known so being bored you jump right on the band wagon. The sad thing is that you have no idea about what you are destroying. This board is nearly 6yrs old. It's never been perfect there has been little tiffs because it seems that you can not have a large grouping of black people without it. What it did have is a group that actually cared more about when folks were due to have surgery and that all went well; calls were made to check on people; we lined up to provide support; we made a point of posting what was going wrong with the SURGERY POSTOP/PREOP process more than we needed to inform folks every time someone hurt their feelings, every time we blinked and baf might not have known about it...yes that is an exaggeration but anyway, nobody is being hurt by this new drama where posting just to shock or have something to post is so important but the members of the board. At this point we have PostOps as much as 8yrs or so out. Instead of everyone getting to hear the good, the bad and the ugly that occurs after the honeymoon period when you realize that hey my super body that I've been so stuck on is picking up inches/weight...only a select few get to share in that information. To know the very real experience of regain, vitamin deficiency, bone loss, nerve function loss...etc.
Folks say that they get what's wrong yet the next post is of course about how does one feel when their posts are not directly replied to and of course once again it's on...the drama
