My doctor told me that my goal weight is between 140-150 pounds. I'm working hard to get under the 200 pound mark and then I'll go from there.

My doc actually would NOT give me a goal weight..... he NEVER has.  The only thing he would ever tell me to focus on was protein, water, vitamins and exercise - he said that a goal weight number would have folk doing unhealthy things just to hit the number.

*I* have come up with ideals for myself over time - and have changed them SEVERAL times (I JUST changed it AGAIN last week, lol) anytime I feel I am out of wack or sorts, I just go back to his basics and say F*ck it - letting the 'stress' of a goal off me sometimes gets me back IN line, oddly enough......

I don't just have issues, I have subscriptions!  I'm saving on the newsstand price.......

Aren't goal weights established by physicians based on actuary charts kinda silly, though?  I mean, those charts never take body type into consideration.  I mean you can have two people of the same height weighing 165 pounds and, because of their body types, look totally different.

I got into a convo with a co-worker who is also post-op sometime ago.  The subject of goal weights came up and I told him my doctor had one for me immediately before the surgery..but has since backed off on that.  My original goal weight according to the surgeon was between 165- 175 pounds; my co-worker thought I was already there.

He put this silly look on his face when I told him I was still 216 pounds (at six feet tall) and comfy with it.  My doctor advised me that if I was healthy and comfortable at this weight, maintaining it here was fine with him.  Besides, going down to that "goal" weight would have me looking sickly.

My dr. gave me the goal weight of 180. I weighed that in 8th grade so I will have to see how I look when I get there. I think that a size 12 would look good on me, I'm in a 14 right now. I just want to lose as much as possible so that I'll have a cushion for weight gain that some people have after they have lost their weight.

My doctor set a goal weight for me 167-174 because of my height & frame which was fine with me in the beginning because I was 282 but I had  a certain size in mind that I wanted to wear and once I got to that size I set my own goal weight of 145 which I reached in one year and I stay between 142-145.

I don't have a well thought out goal weight, it's a weight of my youth.  My best looking weight at an adult is 175 and hopefully it will be again and even by the charts I'll just be overweight not obese.  Labels and numbers can really mess with our head.

I started at 277 and looking at the rest of my family and what we assumed about my body structure under the extra pounds no one thought that when I reached the goal of 160 (set by me with my surgeon) I would be any smaller than a 12.  I am 7 pounds away from my goal of 160 and I wear a size 8 comfortably.  My new goal is 150 which is the top of the normal range.  I will probably be a six at that point.  I say all this to say that it is impossible to know where you may end up in clothing sizes.  It truly depends on the amount of exercise you do to reshape your body.  Set your goal to something that is motivating to you to do everything you need to do.
Good Luck
