I was sitting down the other day and I said..Self, what is it that you are looking most forward to after surgery and I smiled to myself as all the things came to mind and I realized..most of them were vain. But I don't care!!! So I made this my motivation list.
1. Wear an ALL White fitted suit
2. Ride a rollercoaster (last time was 1996)
3. Get a Booty (I figured they might as well recycle my fat once I have my plastics, if I have them)
4. Have sex on the beach (was to afraid to look like a beached whale)
5. Cross my legs
6. Go to Hedo (hence #4)
They may just be little things and I could probably do them now well not #2 but those are things I am looking forward to

What motivated me???

I'm not gonna list mine...because they'd be pretty "boring" next to yours Roxy...cause they were all health related...

I think you and others may have misunderstood or maybe I should of clarified more clearly. Better health and longevity is of coarse my ultimate goal or I would not want to my life at risk to change my weight issues. Besides the obvious my list was just the things I was most looking forward to do that I can not do now, I was being whimsical. And if you feel that I am for having theses thought oh well. I was just thinking on the lighter side of the aftermath. Yes, I will become healther and this is an extreme action to take but not only am I going to be heathier I can have these little whimsical vain wants.

Honestly didn't give much thought to it but I can say I like your list

The crossing legs and roller coaster thing though are such wonderful events... I still get off on crossing my legs!!

LOL.. I think I am going to put crossing my legs number 1. How does it feel? A few years I was able to do but not without cutting off my breathing. You would of thought that when I couldn't do it than I would of stop sabotaging ALL of my prev weightloss attempts. I am Queen of weight loss it is keeping it off that is my problem

I'm with Ro....I didn't give much thought to it.  The motivation came as the weight started dropping.  So funny....I was at the kitchen table eating dinner with the fam last night and had my legs crossed.   Y'all know how my mind races....so I started to think....do post-WLS people cross their legs because they can, or out of habit?  I think for me....it's a little bit of both.

I think the fact that I am still at the approval stage and people are saying don't you think this is extreme and I am 100% sure I need this to change my life, but I still have a little nervous twitches now and than and these little whimsical vain wants are things that help me get over be so nervous, beside the fact that I will eliminate the poss of me getting any co-mo I don't have any now but hell my BMI puts me at the head of the class with it being around the corner poss.

Do me a favor and cross your legs for me until I am able to join you. Hey, can you sit indian style? How I can't wait to do this again

I feel you!!!  I had a list myself - although you got ME on that hedo thing - I ain't NEVA going there!!!!  I will do the sex on the beach tho, one day......

Oh yea!  the list............

1 - tie my tennis shoes AFTER I put them on my feet (I couldn't tie them AFTER, had to tie them biotches before and slip them on)
2 - chase my daughter and CATCH her azz - she used to run off from me and not even look back.  First time I caught her azz, the look on her face was PRICELESS!!!
3 - go to a concert and NOT ******* the person sitting next to me cause I am in my seat AND part of theirs.......
4 - Walk through an airport schlepping multiple bags and NOT feel like I need an oxygen tank
5 - Cross my legs (I think everybody has this one)
6 - Work out in the gym and have mofos tryna out do me - instead of looking at me wondering if Imma BREAK some of the equipment.........

I don't just have issues, I have subscriptions!  I'm saving on the newsstand price.......

LOL...If you knew me you would know that the likelyhood of me going to Hedo is nill. I am such a PUNK...but atleast if I got brave enough to go it would be an obtainable one...
I am stealing your #1 I can still tie my sneaker but hell after I am done I am tired like I did some damn activity. OK I am adding all of yours..you truly understood my little whimsical thought. @ The airport last time I swear I wanted to jump on that cart with the older people but was to shamed so I struggled through. I am also adding sitting indian style.

Why Rox, I had no idea you were such a freak!  You know I'm tellin' Ma right?

Anyway, honestly, I'm with Doug as far as my motivation.  My primary goal was my health and not worrying about going to sleep and not waking up.  When I got to the point that something like that was often on my mind, something had to be done.

Now as far as the fringe benefits, yeah, sexual and fashion related milestones help to keep my eyes on the prize.

It is never too late to be what you might have been
