Any Knitters or crocheters on BAF?

I have been crocheting since I was 10 or 11.

My stepfather's sister taught me right before she died

This Saturday I will start working on a prayer shaw.  This past sunday on of the ladies at my church had a meeting to see if anyone would be interested in the project.  She found the book while she was out shopping for yarn -- the shaws are easy to knit or crochet, and each color that's used has a specific meaning.

I knitted a couple of prayer shawls.  It's a great ministry, especially for the terminally ill.  I found a prayer  on line that goes with the shawl.  What color are you making?

oooh post me a prayer shawl pattern plz.

I made my mother a lapghan so that she wouldn't have to sit with her legs closed in church, I used a filet crochet pattern of praying hands.

At my recent mamogram the lady gave me an address and pattern for squares to make lapghans and chemo hats for cancer patients. I just pulled the pattern out a few days ago and will whip some off with my scrap yarn to donate.

I will get the pattern instructions on Sat.  I send it to you on the BL.  I like the lapghan idea also.

I learned to knitt in college.  The college chaplan would host a Stitch and ***** session for the freshman -- and then it took off so well that professors would let us knitt during class.  Ah the joys of going to an all womens institution.   I made a few scarfs because that is all I knew how to do :P

I'm not working on anything now because I forgot how to do everything in law school --- also I was in a pretty bad car wreck and I broke my right wrist.  So I had to re-teach myself how to do everything -- and since there were no knitters in law school there was no one to help me out.  I'd love to get started again though!  I'd also love to learn to crochet.
