Any Knitters or crocheters on BAF?

Yess, I love your determination to learn.  Those hats are so pretty.  I bet you'll make some decent bucks on a side hustle.  Let me know when you get started.  I have a few AKAs and Alphas in the family who would appreciate the gear.

Knitting does relax me too.  I love it. I agree that it is a gift from God.  At one point knitting kept me from losing my mind.  However, like you, I have arthritis in almost every joint (knee replacements x2).  Lately my index fingers are hurting after I knit.  II'm trying to push through --- don't want to give it up.

Keep on pushing, knitting always hurt my fingers but I wanted to learn it. I did learn the pearl stitch with an afghan hook. Do you ever go to ebay, they sale vintage knitting and crocheting items that are no longer sold.

I'll let you know once the hat hustle is launched.

Good luck on your hat hussle -- all things are possible.  I started making jewlery several years ago and I never meant for it to turn into a business, but it did!  I usually have to turn down requests because of my limited time.

There's nothing like the blessing of being able to design and create something with your own hands!

I KNOW that's right. I recently met a lady who makes jewelry and she said the same thing. She's getting ready to retire and said that she will go into business full time then.

As a non-traditional college student living out of state it was either work or starve for me. I didn't like working and going to school so I decided to make up a lot of those tornado head thingies when they were popular. It took all of 5 minutes to make one and I could slam out 40 of them per skein of yarn. A skein cost $2.00 and I sold each tornado thang for $3.00.  I was profiting $120.00 per skein of yarn.

Gurrrrl I whipped out school colors, sorority colors and even fraternity colors for the sisters of the fraternities. I bought little baggie sandwich bags to wrap them in and at homecoming walked the parade route like a fat float(). I cleaned up.

Between that and being a student jitney on weekends I was able to concentrate on just school and didn't have to work. Since my Neice is in college and about to pledge AKA I plan to load her up with hats to sale for me.

A poster on here named Yesss crochets cute hats and she's fast too. I took some knitting lessons because I thought that it would help with my arthritis by exercising my hands but I'm not very good at it. I need a refresher course.

Hey gurlie,
Knitting didn't agree with my fingers (too big) you may want to try crocheting for your arthritis, it may help.

Hi Neena:

Crocheting is easier on my hands than knitting.  But I knit better than I crochet.  I'm thinking about kknitting lessons to learn some new things.

Congrats on your weight loss.
