Busta Azz Doctor
Aight, I dont post much, but here is an update.
I just got back from my 1 year post op visit (well 1year and 1 month).
At about 3 months after surgery my Dr. left this group practice and went SOLO. (I should have followed him). But, since surgery was done, I figured I like the office staff, i'll stay put and take another doctor. @ my 3 and 6 month visit everything was good - I saw the Dr. Assistant. Weight was coming down good, no problems, no complications - every body is happy. I started @ 360 and now I am 220.5 (W/cloths on @ the Dr's Office on the BIG BOY Scale - yall know the digital flat bed scale)
DR: You haven't lost enough weight
ME: ??? What you say??? 140lbs is not enough for the 1st year.
DR: Do you know what a man your height should weigh?
ME: (Okay i'll bite) No Doc how much?
DR: 160lbs
ME: YOU MEAN I need to loose another 60lbs??? (is we talkin about a man 5'8 or 5'2?)
I was wanting to get to 195lbs - 205lbs range, but that still wouldnt be enough for him.
DR: You are eatting too many times a day. You are taking in too many calories. Don't do 5 small meals - only eat 3 times a day like regular folks. (how many folk you know only eat 3 times a day)
ME: I am taking in between 1600 - 2000cal per day. (I break down what I eat)
Dr: You need to add excercise to your routine.
ME: So the 4-6 times a week isn't good enought?
Dr: Well I dont understand why you havent lost more.
ME: My orginal dr wanted me to get between 200-220
I tell the doctor that i am taking my vits, drinking the water. And I asked him about my blood work. He says thats all great, no problems there. Then he says I'll see you in 6 months.
Has anybody else wanted to Kick their Dr in the face before?
Okay I just had to rant for a min

What's up, Smooth?
First off all, they are going by the daggone actuary charts for the most part. Those charts do not take into consideration you body type or whether you have heavy musculature.
I went to my doctor a couple of weeks ago. He looked at me and guessed I was around 175-180...the BBS (big boy scale) said "216".
His reaction:
"As long as you maintain your weight loss and are comfortable here and healthy, there is no reason not to stay here."
We agreed that if I did go to the 160-175 the chart says i'm supposed to be, I'd look anerorexic and sickly.

"When Alexander saw the breadth of his domain, he wept for there were no more worlds to conquer." Plutach. Not true, for there are always more worlds to conquer.
