Need to VENT ~work issues~

Okay, so when I got this job, Phil and I talked and decided I would not show all my talents....just what I need to perform the job...and do a good job!

WHY?  Because people can be threatened by your knowledge. So, I would be teachable, even if I already knew something....okay?

The team I was hired for is a NEW TEAM...it has 2 older company employees (not old as in age) from different backgrounds (departments).....diversity is needed on this team...okay?

So, I went in not knowing everything...I really do need to know more about the company. My supervisor is new too....she has like 60 days on me...so we are learning.

No matter how I come off on BAF, I am a PROFESSIONAL first and foremost. So she tried to say two weeks ago I was not doing my job effectively at all because of my hearing ~hold me back~ I stayed calm. I let her speak ~she was very nasty~  Then she said "Can you hear me?" If you could have seen my face...I'm like "I can hear you perfectly; however, neither do I understand or agree." I mean come on, you don't wait 30 days when you have a weekly meeting so say "you screwing up." ~roll eyes~

Let's just say I sent her a long EMAIL...stating everything she said (had to let her know I HEARD her)....and then responded to all her accusations. Explaining how they were not factual.

She could not even LOOK at me the next day....I even asked, "would you like to discuss my email?" ~roll eyes~

NOW, she is passing off my work as her own....having meetings with me then going to the team meetings (without me) and passing off my ideas as her own.....When the team gives me a compliment about my knowledge, she gets upset, but she has no problem complimenting me when we are alone.

So, I called a meeting for Monday. I am a professional, I am mild-tempered (at work), but I am NOT a pushover!

So I may be unemployed AGAIN. ~and yes, I told her I want her manager or someone else present~

I focus not on my disabilty; my focus is on my ABILITIES.

I actually like her ~I know~ and I really did bend my knowledge for her sake....however, it still does not work....I won't be back full-time....I will be in a Lawyer's office....like I said, I am NOT a pushover. I may give that pushover persona, but in no way, shape, nor form is tht who I really am!

I seems as if you handled the situation well...Something similar happened to me when I wrked from home one day...I usually e-mail my manager if I need to work from home but he was out so I e-mail our VP...Now at work I handle some of the accounts for my VP...he should not be doing that kind of work but he is very hand on...The next day he e-mailed me and told me he checked my numbers and only did two accounts and that he would have expected more of me...Yes I was upset because my numbers are over what is expected and 2nd @ work I have two monitors and @ home I have a laptop and if you pull a report the expected number per day is 2...From that point on I just made it my business to do my work to a tea...It was upsetting but being only about 2 years out of college and 2 years with the company I did not know how to handle it and left it alone...I go back to work on 1/26 and plan on having a new attitude and a new way of thinking..I hope to be more straight forward no matter what the consequences are... I love my job but would rather have respect at the end of the day.

I totally understand! At work, I am very different. Trust me, I am fuming! And I will rectify that situation in a manner that makes profanity looks like a foreign language. I will use CORRECT GRAMMAR when I speak, EYE CONTACT when I speak, I will SMILE when I speak, but I will BACK UP everything with facts and evidence!

Really, don't go there with me!? Okay....~thanks Boo~

AND....leave the BREAD alone...you will be able to eat it later.....if YOU must eat it now, see if it is okay (per your surgeon) to have some TOASTED bread.

Are you going to let her managers know she asked "Can you hear me?"  She's suspect just for that alone.

D,
Im glad you are going to your lawyer's office IF you end up getting fired.  It seems like a clear case of discrimination.  Sounds like at the very least a lawsuit waiting to happen.  Just DON'T lose ur cool...it strenghens ur case...then again, i'm sure u know this already.
