XPost: Blood

Has anyone ever needed extra blood during surgery and if so, did you use your own? Did you have blood drawn and saved for surgery?

No, but this is a GREAT idea. Not WLS, but another surgery I had, b/c my blood was already low, my hubby donated blood for me. ~Though I did not need it and would not have taken it anyway~

My surgeon handled all that....he went to the hospital....like the pre-testing (for surgery) department. She gave a paper to him....and viola!

I thought that you didn't want to associate with the "african amercan" board because we call each other sistah and brotha and use slang over here. At least that's what you were saying when you copied #1 Mack Mama's post word for word to the RNY board the other day. You had a problem with the way some people talked to each other. We are BAF which stands for Black American Forum and you will find all of the words you hate over hear such as sistah, brotha and even the "n" word. I'm not trying to be rude but just being real.

They probably wanted info and was hoping no one would remember that this is the same person who copied Trina's post.

I come in here all the time, as well as the RNY, GLBT, Medical Conditions and Main Board. People place XPosts on different Boards all the time, usually because they like the question and want feedback from different perspectives. I used your Post because I thougt it was good for conversation.



Relative to the other stuff that was said, I don't have a clue about it. Only thing I can suggest is to read what was said on the RNY Board for Yourself (someone else may not have the same perspective as You and may be giving a skewed perspective). There is an INSIDE problem Cleopatra_Nik and I were having and as you read Nik and My back and forth conversation, you may get it. She called Me SISTAH as a "PUT DOWN" (she wants cudos as the authority on Black feelings/attitudes in the RNY Forum, basically she justifies anything crude they might say...she loves that pat on the head from them. Me, I don't give a dayyum about Cyber cliques, I say what I need to and try to stay real, as well as drama free). I told her I don't use the term - at least not to everyone, unless we have something in common other than color. You know it is true,most of us have had someone  we called Sistah or Brotha and they "backstabbed us", hence, my reframe from calling Nik my "Sistah". Just setting the record straight because I am an information seeker and I don't mind asking questions where I feel I can get needed answers...I am also interested in diversity because everyone's experience is not the same, but everyone's experience is rich.



Also, I responded to the post you put up here before I reposted, that is when I thought it would be a good topic of conversation so I reposted.
