Yes, I had one.  Laverne did a good job at explainng it.  The test is very helpful.  It helps you determine how many calories you burn at rest and from that you can determine how many calories you need to have daily to lose weight.  I know from my test that my RMR is 2296.  If I want to lose:

.5 pound I need to have a deficit of 250 from the 2296
1 pound deficit of 500 from 2296
1.5 pounds deficit of 750 from 2296
2 pounds deficit of 1000 from 2296

I can do this in a combination of eating less and burning calories through excercise.

so if I want to lose 2 pounds I would subtract 1000 from 2296.  Giving me 1296 Calories a day to lose weight.  I could eat like 1596 calories and then excercise and burn 300 calories to put me at the 1296 cal.

The Medgem had my RMR around 2400 and the test I had at the hospital said it was 1450.  That 1450 is the reason why my doctor wants me to see an endocrinologist to rule out a thyroid problem.  My number is too low for my age.  It would have next to impossible for me to lose weight without the WLS.
