BAF Members: To The Board Room Pronto! (Seriously Long)

Please be forewarned I am having a Jerry Maguire moment. I am fixin’ to spill my guts and will probably be fired behind it…but the beauty of BAF is y’all nitches (the "n" word mixed with the "b" word…feel free to use it) can’t fire me!

Asking for forgiveness on all of the typos and grammatical errors ahead of time.

Soooo where do I start?

Y’all know how I do, right? Well my mind just started racing after Miss 203 left a status message on Facebook yesterday about BAF.

Her message: BAF has lost it.

Truer words were never spoken. So here goes it….

It’s common knowledge that BAF has lost it. Everyone sees the big pink elephant in the room, but continues to pretend it’s not there.

What have we lost? BODIES

And to be quite honest, I am feeling a way about those that have left the board!!!!!

And to be even more honest…I know most of you are still here LURKING!

I feel a way because it seems you got from the board what you needed and left or now lurk. I understand people leave/lurk the board for a host of different reasons. Here are a few…and in no particular order.

 

1. Drama. There is too much drama on the board. I no longer get anything from it.

 

 

2. I’ve lost weight, and I am living my life now. I have no time for the board

 

 

3. Beef. I was involved in some mess…so I am done with the board

 

 

4. I am still here, but I provide support behind the scenes.

 

 

5. I’ve gained weight and I don’t want people to know.

 

 

6. My job blocked BAF, so I can’t access it during the day.

 

All of the reasons above except for #6 are a bunch of bull**** and even #6 shouldn’t give you a full access pass…you can log-on in the evenings!

Answer me this…is it fair that during the crucial part of your journey you were supported, but now refuse to pay it forward because of the reasons I stated above? Is this fair to the newer BAF members? We hold a wealth of information in our BAF community. WE ARE A COMMUNITY.

Definition of a community:

A community only fails because of lack of participation. BAF didn’t become the 3^rd most popular forum by chance. It’s because of our comradery. There are many that hate we even exist (y’all know who I’m talking bout)….but they be jacking our post…LOL! JUST LIKE IN REAL LIFE, eh?

So back to the reasons. When have any of these reasons stopped us in our 3-D lives? Why are we so eager to fall back in cyber world? A cyber world with real people behind monitors that need support. People that are sitting in the same seat you were 2-3 years ago. If you are supporting 1 or 2 people behind the scenes…I would put $5 on it that there are at least 20 others that would have benefited from your support/advice.

And so what you have gained weight! Don’t you realize the longer you stay away, the chances of you gaining even more weight are greater? History shows this…trust me! When you stay in the forefront, BAF challenges you to be accountable. Hiding is hurting you, don’t do this to yourself.

Speaking to the drama and beefs. Again…this is something we deal with in our 3-D lives…what difference does it make in cyber world? This journey isn’t only about you…remember, it’s about the community. We all know drama/cyber beefs eventually become a faded memory anyway. There will always be people who don’t like you and vice versa…just like in real life. And just like in real life you choose to live around this people…on the forum, you can choose to post around them. Or, fight it out and then move on. Put into practice what you are teaching your children. It’s that simple, and the board doesn’t suffer as a result.

To those that have had WLS success, and have decided to move on. You guys **** me off THE MOST. That is the most selfish mess. Honestly…the board can do without your selfish ass….good riddance! Just remember karma is good for catching a case of the *****ass-ness. Umph. Oh, and don’t be coming back saying…just checking in…here are pics of me…tell me what you think. You can’t take at least one day a week to welcome a newbie, congratulate someone on an approval, offer them prayers on their surgery date, applaud them for their wow moment, or just participate on a random post??? ALL of these things that were afforded to you in the beginning of your journey **** you!

Now speaking to the once active BAF members that go into lurk mode. WHY? Why are you still here observing? If BAF isn’t for you anymore more, if BAF has gone to the birds…why lurk? Why? Because you love it here…admit it. Geesh. You can’t stay away! I’ve been there and done that mess. I am not speaking to any one person particular here in what I am about to say, because there are many that will do this. BUT you are lurking so friggin’ HARD…but plan to attend the M&G! I am not saying that in a bad way…we want you there! I reiterate…WE WANT YOU THERE. However, we want to see you post on the forum as well! It’s NOT fair to enjoy the festivities of a M&G and you haven’t contributed to the board. You gotta know that ain’t right. I know you will say…well I have friendships behind the scenes and those are the people I wanna see at the M&G! I say to that…you have already met and greeted those people. Be real with your motives…why do you once active BAF members really want to attend? To be nosy? To show off your new and improved bodies? To creep? The shock factor? What is it? Regardless of the reason….your presence IS wanted there….just as much as your presence IS wanted on the board. Just think about that, k?

The newer members deserve all of what us older heads experienced and benefited from the board. BAF has lost it because the newer people have no idea what it was like. Most of them don’t know about:

And I must say…it’s not just the WLS related post that keep people on BAF…it’s a combination of ALL of these topics. It’s our flair that has made BAF #3 on OH. It isn’t like us to settle for 3rd spot though. We have so many new members we can shoot for #1…can we not?

BAF needs to get back to being about our business. If you want to be part of the rebuilding project (and only if you truly want to be), ask yourself what can *I* do to bring the BAF COMMUNITY back to its original state?

Alright…your turn to sound off. I don’t want your response if you are gonna tell me why BAF can never return to its original state. That is business faux pas 101. Only your solution or positive response is welcome. I am looking for people to positively speak BAF back into its original state of existence.

Oh, and before I forget…thanks to all of you that are 3+ years out and are still actively here with us! THANK YOU!
