1. ALWAYS seek and ask your surgeon questions pertaining to vitamins and food. They should provide you with this information, but if NOT ensure they get it to you...this is VERY important.
2. Don't stock up on any food or protein, there is a MAJOR chance your taste buds may change.
3. Don't do any exercise after surgery (except for light walking to prevent blood clots) w/o the consent of your surgeon. He/She needs to give you a release to exercise. You don't want to burst or tear anything.
4. Yes, protein is important, but staying HYDRATED is most important. Please drink your fluids (water). You can live without food for months, but you will die withou****er in a week (okay, I'm guesstimating here).
5. HAIR---this is my opinion---if your hair is going to fall out, it is going to fall out and there is nothing you can do about it. Therefore, to me your FOCUS she be on hair maintenance. By that I mean, ensuring you keep it moisturized, trimmed, deep conditioned, etc. Taking biotin will help the new hair, but it does nothing for the hair you will lose. You can have your stylist do anti-breakage treatments as a defense mechanism. I did that.
6. PROTEIN---helps you to heal....really it does. That is the reason getting in protein is sooo important and beneficial. There are several ways...from adding it to Chrystal light to holding your nose and chunking it down.
BAF, anyone else can offer tips, advice. I am neglecting yawl today as I need to keep my job! ~smooches~

You're so right about the hair. I used to have dreds down past my shoulders and look what happened to me.
okay, so maybe it wasn't down to my shoulders.

"IF YOU WANT TO PERM YOUR HAIR YOU NEED TO DO SO BEFORE YOUR SURGERY.....OTHERWISE YOU WILL HAVE TO WAIT FOR 6 MONTHS AFTER SURGERY. The reason for this is that the chemical imbalances in your body after surgery changes your body chemistry and you take a chance that your gair could break off or fall out.."
Coloring- The same rule applies as with perming. You must color your hair before surgery and not for 6 months afterwards.
Change is a Process Not an Event
