If I have one mo' drink...

I know that people have posted about their various experiences with alcohol, but...
I'm six weeks out and my birthday is this weekend. How much harm do you think it would be to have a sip or two of a nonsweetened alcoholic beverage? I don't intend to make a habit of this.

If you want the party to end really early then do what you want; but I would advise you to grab some unsweetened cranberry juice and keep it movin'.

no alchoholic drink is worth the risk of drinking this early out...Please dont. There are many ways to celebrate your birthday without drinking

Dr.'s usually advise one year out before drinking alcohol. I don't drink but I can't imagine that it would be good for your healing process because it could harm the liver. I've read that alcohol affects wls patients differently because of our pouch, so that means it could take very little to get tipsy. I wouldn't chance it, if I were you. Enjoy your day .

Okay. I will listen to the voice of reason. I've been compliant with every other step of this journey. I can wait to have a drink when the time is right for both me and my pouch. Thanks for all of your advice.

I know right? Before surgery I was a social drinker and with a special occasion around the corner, I just thought... Hey, I'm glad I posted because I was just going to sneak and do it. Now I'm accountable to myself and others.
