My guy friend lost his father....

My guy friend lost his father. He is much older than me, he is 44 and I am 27. We are not a couple we just hang out some times. Well it has been a while since I heard from him so I texted him saying if u don't want to talk just let me know. He texted back saying he lost his father. I felt like an ass. Well he lost him on Jan 04 and I really haven't heard from him. I don't want to be selfish but I do miss him. I don't want to be a bug a boo. This man also work where I work and he hasn't been there. Should I give him more time? Should I get him a card and what else?

well - if yall friends - you should know his 'type'...... anybody who knows me knows NOT to call or 'smother' me......

Absolutely send a card - then let HIM come out of his shell - he's probably doing the 'I'm a hermit' thing right about now......

We can only get as close as people let us.

I know you want to be more supportive to him....but I think all you can do now is give him the space he's needing.....

People grieve differently depending on their relationship to the deceased.  

So, patience is truly the key  right now.   It could be the difference in seeing the relationship grow or  not.
