Do long distance relationships really work?
***ETA: Speaking of distance......I lived in Florida, we met while he was in Iraq (but he lived in California)
19 years later, 3 SPOILED ass kids later, we are STILL happy.(Nope, she aint left me yet, LOL!!!)

Yes they can work but it depends on how serious both parties are. I was in a long distance relationship for 1 year. I was in NC and he was in SC. It was work but it paid off...I'm Mrs. Mark A. Moses for proof!!!! Long distance relationships take a special kind of love and that's what we had and still have.
During the long distance phase, we talked on the phone all day and night. We have been married for over 10 years now... We are still happy!
"When Alexander saw the breadth of his domain, he wept for there were no more worlds to conquer." Plutach. Not true, for there are always more worlds to conquer.

I'm in one now....and although there are times when I long for her like nobody's business....the distance only makes us stronger for now. We plan to move to a neutral city this coming August. She and I see one another about every two weeks....unless I'm just "JONESIN" for her presence REALLYYYYY BAD! Then I'll jump on the road un-planned, and un announced!! I live in Miami, she lives in Ocala a distance of aproximately 300 miles/ 4 hour drive!
In other words...LDR's they work...so long as you desire for them to do so. The love two people share MUST "out strech" the distance. Lots of hard work, understanding, sacrafice, determination, and the desire to be happy in the long run...all of these things play a part in it working.
