Do long distance relationships really work?

I'm currently involved in a long-distance relationship.  They are not easy, but they can work.  As stated, the parties involved must have open and honest communication and be willing to invest in the relationship (emotionally and financially).

Ultimately, (in my opinion) in long distance relationships one of two things will happen.

1.  The relationships ends because the distance becomes too great, or....

2.  Someone moves and the relationship progresses.

I'm in Atlanta, and he is in New York City.  Right now we're averaging seeing each other about  once every 3 weeks to a month.

Ok, one of my girlfriends was in a long distance marriage for a while she was in New York and her husband was in Atlanta and at first she did not like it but then she got used to him not being there and was cool with it.

As much as I love the Big Apple, it's cold as all hell up there!  I'm working on getting him to Peach territory, lol.

Mahn, that is the one thing I don't miss about the SOUF...those long, hot asse summers ~whew~

I don't do HEAT!

I actually love Ohio weather....I HATE the summers ~the humidity factor~  but at least they are SHORT!

But being from New York, Peachtree Blvd, Peachtree Circle, Peachtree St, Peachtree Rd, Peachtree, Terrace, and all that should be EASY for him LOL

I AGREE WITH WHAT DEDEE SAID I HAVE BEEN IN SEVERAL BEFORE, AND IT CAN WORK, BUT IT TAKES A HUGE EFFORT BETWEEN BOTH PEOPLE, AND LINES OF COMMUNICATION HAS TO BE OPEN AT ALL TIMES.
