my daughter.  She got on the scale yesterday - 110lbs.  she is only 9!!!!!

How can I call myself a WLS success and my daughter is headed down my same path?  How and why did I watch and LET this happen?????

I sat down and talked to her last night - I had NO IDEA about the things being said to her - that she knew she was 110 lbs before the scale at home cause they did a weigh in at school and the kids crack on her for it....... she just says 'it's nothing, it doesn't bother me......'    I KNOW it does!!!!!

Well - TODAY I am committed to fitness for my babygirl!!!!  We are going to train on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays!!!  Comcast Exercise videos here we come and when it's warm outside again - mama is going to hoop it up with her babygirl and we are going to GET MOVING!!!!!

All the crappy snacks are BANNED from the house - she sees me nipping on them and she grabs a whole bunch for herself - I am going to let her have her fill - OF THE RIGHT THINGS - we are going to do a mini nutritional educational session so she understands protein, carbs and sugar.

I GOTTA get this right yall!!!!  Ain't no way I can post about being 200lbs down - when my babygirl is 20 OVER..........

I'll let yall know how it goes - but just in CASE anyone else out there has kids with or without the same issue - know that YOUR issues COULD be theirs too!  You can't jus****ch YOU!!!

I am right there with you, only my babygirl is 6yrs old and currently wears a 14/16 girls.  Kids can be so cruel and she gets teased all the time and she's taking it really hard (to the point where I think she needs therapy).

I don't keep junk in the house, I HAVE to find some things to keep her moving and I can't wait until it gets warm again.
Life is not about making it through the storm....but learning how to dance in the rain.

awww, you have not failed...just make sure you stay on it now that you know but make it fun for her so that she dont grow up hating exercise and dont overload her mind at 9 with protein, carbs and sugar, she wont understand...just make her understand that some things are healthy for you and some are not.

I know that has to tear on your heart.  I will say that I appreciate your honesty!  When I was 10 I was150lbs EASY!  My mom never took the time to educate me or take some responsibility.
Who better to teach her than you!!!  This may be all she needs.  Your a success and I'm sure when she realizes that you truly get it she will to.

Oh and on comcast there are kids exercise videos!

Good luck!!!

I don't have kids, but I will say this.  I was TRAUMATIZED around that age by my mother's actions.  The kids at school were the least of my problems, what happened at "home" ****** me up, so please be careful how you handle it and what you say.  The ****** up part is that looking back I wasn't even fat at that point, I got fat later

It is never too late to be what you might have been

QT - I FEEL you!!!  One of the reasons it's 'gone on' so long is because I didn't want to come down on her..... my mom did some pretty outrageous shiot to me too - so much so that food became my 'weapon' against her - it was ONE thing *I* could control........

I will be VERY careful with her - I do not want to **** up her head.......
