MY NSV- what's yours? Grown Woman status!

I turned 35 yesterday - that was a big deal- I mean, you are really grown up- no more cat fights with other women- no more doing kid stuff- my BFF and I went to go see Not Easily Broken (What a great movie! Morris Chestnut  is so foiine! LOL) But a NSV for me, my BFF was on a fast and had already broken it but was trying to keep her resolve and she knows about my LB plans so we said we were going to each support one another. I sat through the movie with only water-no candy no popcorn nothing! YAY me! Now I did mention it was my birthday so did I have cake that day? Yes. Did my friend and I go out to Red Robin? Yes. Did I have a Cajun turkey birger, onion rings, and a mai tai? Yes. But...I did do a trick I learned from Bob the trainer on Biggest Loser- I poured water on my food when I got near the end of it- soooo I did not eat the end of my fries or burger. We shared the onion rings and destroyed the last 4. and I didn't finish the last 1/2 or so of my mai tai. I got on one of those How much do you weigh scales that was in the movie theater lobby and I was 326.4- so considering I was 329 last Monday, at least I was moving in the right direction. Now today I know my wt is up and I did have some more cake today so it looks like I will need to be cutting back so when I weigh in tomorrow at my Gastric Lapband class, I won't have gained.

But I must say no candy and no popcorn at the movies and destroying perfectly good food with water so I won't eat it- are 2 definite NSVs!

It sounds like you aremaking strides and have got your head right.  I like your idea of putting water on food when you are done.  I will have to try this.

What does NSV stand for? I'm thinking its maybe a mind trick you play to prevent yourself from sabatoging your diet. I highly advise everyone not to google this because it has other umm...soft porn meanings...lol

My NSV is giving away half of my food to someone who I know for sure will eat it. I give it away to my coworkers who are too cheap to by their own food and it works! I've tried packaging my food and bringing it to work but I just am not that girl. I'm horrible at making my food in advance. So I have to eat out smart.

Yeah I think the pouring water trick will work well for eating out- I felt weird doing it at first and handing the waitress this messy plate to clear but oh well! LOL

Ohhhh! lol well then my most recent NSV has been being able to dance through 3-4 songs without getting tired or leaving the dance floor!

NSV-Non Scale Victory (meaning it has nothing to do with the scale) ie, I didnt need a seat extender on the plane.

SV=Scale victory, i.e.  I lost 20 pounds this month

Congratulations on seeing another year, Happy Birthday!!!!  Now about that grown-woman thang, congratulations on that too and your non-scale victories, but I can tell you that your NSVs will soon lead to some major SVs for you very soon!!! 

All these posts about WOW moments make me so nastalgic for my new post-op days.... for real, they do!! Lately, my only NSVs (and I don't mean only, it's a big deal to me) is that all my smallest tops, even ones I've never worn, either fit or are too big!! I've been buying cute sexy jackets and tops.... I'm still working on the bottom, but the top is on point!!

My NSV was going to the dance class yesterday. I then backtracked that today because due to non planning I've eaten WAAAAY too mcuh chips and dip because I was starving when I got home from teh hairdresser. But, I'll focus on the dance class for now lol
