Backyardigans

Or Negroes in the back yard!  You know some of you might take what I'm about to say to heart or wonder why I even went this route-cuz I'm Pinkcurves *****es that's why. lol. I am watching the Backyardigans (4 foster kids okay) and I noticed that the characters with the African American names- what Caucasian people would refer to as (Exotic names) had attitude issues. Uniqua (pink character) and Tasha (yellow character). Is it me or are the Backyardigans BLACK? LMAO! Think about it we were only allowed to enter White folks house only from the back yard through the back door into the house. HMMMM! Now, why couldn't Tasha with an attitude be called Emily instead?  Some white folks not all white folks tend to place their preconceived notions and bias into their manuscripts (writers and directors) and since African Americans-heck minorities are more opt at reading between the lines (research proven) we will more likely take offense to what seems miniscule to our counterparts.

u know i though about the effect the name i gave my children would impact them for the rest of their life.....it took 7 days to name my daughter after she was bore.....my son i had thought about long and hard.....being from Minnesota.....make a big difference....my son's name - Rhys (Reese) and my daughter - Chleo (Chleo).....folks can't tell what they are by their names.....keep them guessing til' the interview!!!

Honey I plan on naming my daughters Morgan, Madison, and Mallory! 

Keep them guessing....it's already been determined it makes a difference....I was watching Judge Judy and they had a plaintiff from MN and her name was Xang Jackson (I think).....it was a Xmong name w/a black last name......she had me all twisted!!!.....yes she was a sista......but I understood the thinking behind it.

LMAO!!  I was thinking the same thing but some things you just keep to yourself. You forgot Tyrone. If you really want to know, look at how they make the characters dance. It is unreal!!! Hell, some of those moves, I can't even do...lol.  Then there's Pablo..I guess he's the only hispanic one out of the bunch. It's amazing you brought that up, but yes I do think they're black or rather "minority" characters (since Pablo is in the group).

Hey PC....that show is/was one of Brooklyn's favorites - so I've watched on a many a day - and I LOVE the Backyardigans!  Yes, I noticed the same thing....but in all honesty, I never gave it a second or third thought, because they are explorers and they TEACH...so, I don't care what their names are...lemme go check them out on On Demand...dangnabbit!! LOL!!!

Now about that backdoor...hmm...
