3+ years - no complications.....

Although - at one year, I got dehydrated and had a intestinal issue that sent me to the ER - that was from me not monitoring my water intake and doing what *I* should have been doing.... learned that lesson - have NEVER repeated it.......

I don't just have issues, I have subscriptions!  I'm saving on the newsstand price.......

I had my first complication almost 4 years out from my (Open Rny) - SMALL BOWEL OBSTRUCTION. BUT do realize anytime you have ANY abdominal operation you can get a Small Bowel Obstuction.

I wasn't really shocked BECAUSE just like I was BEFORE I purchased my home and car I did a THOROUGH background on the surgery BEFORE I laid on the table.....

Many of us bring on our own complications by not taking vitamins, not eating enough protein, not following up with doctors for blood work, or in my case, taking NSAIDs like they were vitamins.

My first complication was dehydration....you have to get in water early out.

My second was gastric ulcers. I was taking Motrin like multi-vitamins....

I focus not on my disabilty; my focus is on my ABILITIES.
