Question
I received a call from my surgeons office today however I have my 3 month appt Wed. I was informed that my protein levels are low (16 needs to be 20), calcium, vitamin D and iron levels are low. I am using a presciption iron supplement Replevia which I just finished in the end of Nov and I take a liquid multivitamin and calcium supplement once daily. My NUT told me to drink at least 2 protein shakes daily and take my vitamin and calcium supplement prior to bedtime. She also said I should add a OTC vitamin D and calcium supplement and take at least 3 to 4 times per week in addition to waht I am already doing. BTW- I am using Nutrametrix vitamins and calcium.
Can anyone give me any suggestions on what they are using or what I can use that is pretty good for calcium and/or vitamin D.
Thanks
Danielle

the low iron is from the liquid multivitamin, b/c it dont have iron. i take flinstones complete. 2 a day if under 300lbs, 4 a day for over. calcium citrate: tropical oasis calcium citrate, liquid. very tasty! i bought it at vitacost.com for $14.99/32 oz. i take 1 tablespoon a day. both keep me good and my tests have come back on point!
My vitamin D level has been extremely low since surgery so I ordered Bariactric Advantage vitamin D capsules because I can open them up and pour them in a cup. I have to take 10,000 IU until my levels are up, that is 2 capsules a day. I get my calcium citrate from either walmart or vitamin world, I also opened the capsules and poured them in a little cup.
