I need some help this morning because I am steaming mad  at this darn hospital people!  Makes me hate going to the ER.  I went to the ER 3 times.... 3 days in a row for lower back pain.  I mean severe unbearable back pain where I was on the floor.   The first time I went in they thought I had kidney stones so they did a CT scan.  They didn't find anything but said I had a UTI.   Okay so they gave me antibodies for the infection...but as soon as I got home the pain came back as if I was in labor!!!

I went back a second time and stil the same thing "nothing wrong with you, you just have an infection.  That is where the back pain is coming from".  Well excus the F out of me, I am the one having these pains  and I know darn well it is not coming from no UTI!

I went in a 3rd time and stillt he same thing!  I am suspecting a herniated disc.  Can  somebody please help me cuz I'm about to go nuts!!!!   They gave me Percocet which I have been taking back to back (more than what it says to take)  then they give me Valium plus Cipro for the infection.  I'm getting addicted to the Percocet but......

The first two meds only helps me relax and sleep but the pain is still tfreaking there. I know my body and I know the pain I am having.  Some drs don't know it all!!!!

I would go to my PCP and wouldnt leave until they tell me what is wrong with me.

I've been on the phone with them half the morning trying to get a MRI done and they telling me they need to go through my insurance first.  I"m like hell no... cuz i dont know how much more of this pain I can take.  They give me these strong drugs to ease the pain and it is not even working....if I find out it's something more serious... I'm sue the pants off them drs at the ER!!

I don't know your medical history, but I do know for a fact that UTIs can cause really bad back pain.  You didn't say how long you have been taking the antibiotics, it does not take away the pain instantly.

Lower back pain could also mean gallstones.

Kim, I have been having this pain for a week.  I've been taking the UTI meds for about 3 days now... the other meds I just got them yesterday. 

Question:  can they see gallstones on a CT? Cuz they couldn't find nothing on the Ct they did. 

Did they do a full CT, with the injection in your veins?  Or did you just have to drink that nasty stuff?

If they did the injection and you drank that stuff, gallstones will show. 
If they just had you drink that stuff, they will see a mass in your gallbladder that may indicate stones.

No they just did a simple CT where I went through and they took pictures.  No injections or anything.  Now if they didnt see any kidney stones in the CT then possibly no gallstones either, am I correct?

The injection is what makes them see a clearer picture of what's inside.  That, along with drinking that nasty chalky stuff.

If you did not drink anything or get that injection, they may not have gotten a clear pic that shows everything.

A UTI will have your LOWER back hurting like you been humping on the floor with no cushion!  \0/

You can take meds all day long LOL, but the thing is you had GBS so you need to tell them to give you an antibiotic SHOT and then request liquid antibiotics. Our bodies don't process meds the way they use to before surgery so unless we make special request, it takes forever to get well!
