keesh i couldn't leave brookhaven alone either!! switched to ruby on the style channel - love her, she's funny and charming and just well, southern. i was wondering why a lot of the patients haven't considered surgery either then on one brookhaven episode i got it just as the dr. said it to one of the *smaller* patients she's a cheater, i wanna call her maureen or tammy and her boyfriend is the guy with the 50lb tumor on his leg. anteeway - morbid obesity is a risk the docs wanna lecture about but when somone gets to super morbid obesity, the surgeons don't wanna take the risk and personally i think that's less about concern for the patient than about maintaining their own mortality rates. that brookhaven resident he was talking to weighed 370 and her dr. wanted her to lose 100 by herself. i was like if she could do this alone whadna smelly hayle would she need you for? the director said the reason he allows the residents to cheat is b/c he used to ban cheating and what happened when he did was the patients would elect to go home, then they'd die at home from continuing to get bigger, said he felt guilty like his decision to ban food led to their deaths, so his policy is they've gotta learn how to eat with that mess from the kitchen AND real world food. he did sound crazy when he started tambout wls but truthfully we've all heard at least one person in our cypher who was like you're gonna do what to your gut??
