...if we're honest with ourselves...there is usually some pain, on some level, when it's time to move on.............from whatever situation.

Wow...your response just floored me, Doug.  Just something to ponder...and wow again...
I choose to love myself, live life to the fullest, and encourage others to liberate themselves!

Good Post!!!!   It's crazy because everytime I go through my phone It reminds me just who my real friends are.  So why do I keep  my so called "best friend" number in it????    She has always been very competitive with me.  When I purchased my car so did she, In the last ten years I have settled down alot and she still runs the street, So our conversations almost have nothing in common.  But what really irritates me about her is she lies so much and never comes through!!!! Recently I sent her a text about how I felt etc and no response!!!  When I had my surgery this month and developed pneumonia my husband called her w/o me knowing explaining that I was in the ICU and that whatever was going on between us should not matter anyway she told him right away that she would be there..... Guess what she never came!!  I never really expected her to but I am a person of my word if I say I'm gonna do something I do it.....So after many let downs from her...  She will be my delete in 2009..

And guess what it's OK!!!!!

And guess what it's OK!!!!!

I love that you said that. It's a powerful thing to be able to release yourself from the situation. To say, without anger, "our time has past". I can move on and it's okay. No hard feelings, peace and blessings to you.

I am working on it.

I was reading your post (and others) and it reminded me of what a friend told me a long time ago...  There are two types of people in the world.  One has "it"  [support, affection, friendship or whatever you are looking for within the relationship] to give and will not give "it" to you or one just don't have "it" to give in the first place.
Without struggle, there is no progress.

thanks Puddin. I think there is definitely some truth to what you've said.

Slim,

That "reason...season...lifetime" thing rings so true!!!!  You have touched on so much in this post.  It's hard to let go of people but, it is much needed.  You are purging them out of your circle.  I greatly support you in THIS effort!!!!  I wish you well!!!!!!!
The question that I am asked most often:
 Is that your hair??????
A Phenomenal Woman who doesn't have to Ego Trip to Still Rise:  Pretty women often wonder where my secret lies...I am a woman, phenomenally....that's me!!!!!

This is a great post Slim....sometimes I think its good to reflect on things and re-evaluate what is important and what isnt.     Let go of the un-important things they only weigh your soul down IMO  Not to sound morbid or anything but you only get one chance at this life on earth thing make each day as peaceful as possible
